Alright calorie geniuses, I need a hand.
I believe I’ve seen on here before that using the nutrition information on a packet, you can calculate how many calories are coming from a certain part of the food. Is this correct?
I tried to google it but I didn’t know how to explain it to poor google.
Can someone let me know if there is a way to figure out how many calories the noodles are in this, therefore how many calories for the rest of the things in the packet eg the broth sachet?
Is it as simple as the noodles are 82% of the calories? Am I over or under thinking it?

They make instant noodles by boiling normal noodles til they're soft, then frying them in oil to get rid of the moisture & dry them out so they can be reconstituted with boiling water by the customer.
I'd say the sugar & palm oil in that product accounts for a decent chunk of the calories as plain rice noodles are lower in calories, gram for gram
I wouldn't stress too much about it tho

Rice flour is almost all carb with a little protein. I believe the sugars on the label are added sugar in the broth packet. Therefore, I added the protein+carbs-sugars and multiplied by 4 to get the calorie count of the noodles as 190.8 calories.
Another method would be to use a food scale and use a generic rice vermicelli calorie count to calculate by grams. For example if the noodles weigh 60 grams and rice vermicelli is 3 cal/gram, the total calories would be 180.
Try not to worry, I’m pretty confident in the math in the first paragraph and this definitely wouldn’t make you gain

Thank you everyone for your kind responses. I’m obsessed with the broth that comes in some of my favourite instant ramens and I want to drink it like a ‘Cuppa Soup’ so trying to estimate the calories.
I think I get the idea, so I’ll do an estimate on the other noodle types too and then try not to stress too much on the number!
