never posted on here before, but been on this site on and off for about 4 years (so since i was 14). i’ve got some stressful events coming up and finally control my intake rather than having parents watching over me 24/7 so gonna see what i can achieve. I’m allowing myself 0 calorie drinks but need to play it somewhat by ear as I get quite bad nausea/ acid reflux and haven’t done a long fast in a while. starting bmi 20-21 (been in recovery for a few months oops) :)

Oh also, if anyone has any tips for reducing cravings or any supplements that work for them pls let me know! I'll already be vaping/ smoking, chewing gum, exercising regularaly, staying busy, taking multivitamins, using 5htp to sleep, spending time with friends to distract myself, taking anti nausea pills for vomiting/ acid reflux etc but if anyone else has any useful advice i'd love to hear it!

One more thing- I should probably mention my height is 168cm/ 5'6, I haven't weighed myself in over a month as I've been in recovery and the scale will just be triggering right now but I assume my BMI is 20-21 currently (maybe 56-58kg). My highest weight is 86.5kg (BMI 30.6 lol), my lowest weight is 46.6kg (BMI 16.5) and my UGW is 39.9kg (BMI 14.1). But we'll start with this 2 week liquid fast and then see how I'm getting on haha. To start with I just want to get back under 50kg!! Also, I know that I'm going to have to spend a lot of April with my family and therefore won't have control over my food, so want to at least get to a place where I can be comfortable with my body before then haha.

Hey everyone, I ended up breaking this fast on day 4/5 (can't remember which) as my fasting/ over exercise caused a quite severe health issue and I made the decision that it was more important to give myself the time and nutrients to begin recovering from that, but now I'm back fasting! I decided not to update on here till day 3 as I might as well just start where i left off. Only difference is that I'm aiming for a 10 day fast rather than 14 to make it a little more manageable. We'll see though, the main goals are to be kind to myself and work on shifting my mindset and making plans for my routines once I begin refeeding. That being said...

      Day 3:

      06/03/22

The first few days of this fast has actually been very easy. I am not exercising because of health reasons as mentioned above, which means I'm burning lots less calories and don't have as much of an appetite. I also haven't been as strict with my body (other than food)- last night I had approx 6 shots vodka so obviously that means this is a liquid fast with calories unlike last time. I also did some harder drugs haha. But because its only early on in my fast I think my body will cope just fine. I doubt I'll drink again in the next week as my hangover will likely result in me breaking my fast past this point (I reckon).

I haven't weighed myself because my aim earlier this week was to fill up on lots of protein for my recoery (only reason im not saying what is because im paranoid someone i know in real life will end up stumbling across this haha) and i didnt complete the entire fast, so again i will aim to weigh myself on the 14th march (after i have completed my 10 days away from food), and fingers crossed ill be under 50kg!

If anyone else is fasting let me know and we can motivate eachother :) remember you are loved and worthy of life pls, lots of love from me to whoever is reading this xx

      Day 4:

      07/03/22

I'm actually feeling much better than yesterday, I think I was just hungover haha! I feel so much more mental clarity and have had a pretty productive day. I'm taking things slowly and have had a monster today so that has helped but I haven't felt nauseous or foggy much at all. I have every belief in myself that I will complete my 10 day liquid fast (meaning I won't eat before 12AM Monday morning. Things are going well. I want to weigh myself but I won't because I doubt I'll be under 50kg yet- I'll try leave it till Monday. Been doing uni work all evening, I'm going to bed now. Will update tomo :)

      08/03/22

Still going strong with the liquid fast haha the only calories ive had so far have been from vodka. just had 6 ish shots, feelinng great (obviously haha) but in general i feel like my perspective on life is still in a positive place which is honestly the biggest predictor of whether ill break my fast or not. might not feel so lovely tomo but ill let u know...

      Day 6:

      09/03/22

I feel like this is the longest I've fasted in a while, though I'm aware I have more fat to lose as I've just come out of recovery so my body is likely to be able to manage a bit more. I threw up a little this morning but other than that don't feel too hungover, nauseous or depressed at all. I'm a little tired but just need to get a good nights sleep tonight, drink some water and take it fairly easy for a few days I think. The plan for this fast was 10 days so I'm over half way there which is really encouraging. I still believe in myself and am sure I'll achieve this as long as I rest up and be kind to myself. I need to drink lots more water as i reckon I'm very dehydrated, and I also need to have a tea spoon or two of salt to get my sodium levels up. I'll probably do those things before bed. Hope anyone who is readingg this is having a lovely day and doing the best they can x

      Day 7:

      10/03/22

Wow I'm rather shocked I made it to day 7 I think this is the longest fast I've completed in a very long time. I woke up feeling like death, threw up a bit (just bile again) in my bin cos i couldnt find my 'sick bowl' that i usually keep under my bed, so that was gross. I thought i was gonna have to break the fast cos of how awful i felt but now i actually feel alright. My energy is getting lower but i havent eaten for a bloody week so what do i expect.

Something really interesting that has never happened before happened yesterday though- I went into my uni kitchen and my friend was making a cooked breakfast (sausages, bread, eggs or smth i dont really remember) but instead of it making me wanna eat i actually got pleasure from the smell of it?! Usually I avoid yummy smelling foods at ALL COSTS if im fasting cos it just makes it unbearable- im not sure what made this different but i thought it was worth mentioning. I hope that happens again haha it was like i could taste it through smelling i didnt even need to try it.

Only 3 days left, then the 'refeeding' period will begin. I need to plan how thats gonna go but ive never had a fast this successful so will probably have to do some research. Didnt drink water and have salt yet though which is probably contributing to how shit i feel- ill try do that today

      Day 8:

      11/03/22

Only 3 days to go including today! Pretty sure the last time i fasted this long was in 2020 (when i was a much higher weight)- i wont lie it is getting pretty brutal. I definitely feel some of the side effects i did back in 2020 (funny taste in my mouth, funny smells, tmi sorry buut poop problems lol), but i want to stick to the original plan and fast for 10 days because i truly believe i can. its not that hard. i still have some energy but i dont have much in the way of daily activities to get done so for now im allowing myself to 'just be'. gonna spend this weekend researching the best way of refeeding. im thinking a bowl of peas every morning for a week or smth? i want to go VERY slow because all my previous fasts havent been beneficial due to me eating the same once i do start eating again. other options for reeeding are smoothies/ juices/ maaaaybe a slice of bread and butter (150 cals). if any one has any experience or suggestions for reefeeding they would be greatly appreciated!!!

      Day 9:

      12/03/22

Poop problems and intense waves of nausea have continued but they are only occasional and the majority of the day I dont even think about food (well i do, but intellectually rather than just experiencing cravings). I've got to be up at 4am tomorrow and travel a long way, so im a little anxious about continuing the fast to day 10. that being said, ive come further than i ever believed i could on day one. really shows that we don't know what we are capable of until we take action to find out! Caffeine is my saviour right now but also probably the cause of nausea and poop problems so I'll have a think about pros and cons and whether i should consider cutting it out/ down (not that im having loads). I think ive decided im just going to eat 1 bowl of peas or sweetcorn (80 calories) every day for 7 days when i refeed so that i dont experience sudden and severe weight gain. ive been sleeping fairly well all things considered. i woke up a few times last night but got back to sleep pretty easily. overall, all the negative aspects have been overwhelmingly over ruled by the amplification of my growth mindset and self belief. not sure if anyones even been reading this but either way if you are i hope all is well and if not that okay too cos this thread has been massively motiviating for me to look back on through my fast :)

      13/03/22

I can't believe im on the final day of fasting. Aside from being tired and it being early I feelgreat. I'm so surprised by how effortless the last few days has been- I was definitely not expecting such an easy ride. I'm travelling a long way up north today so am not sure when i'll break my fast but ill let you know when i do ofc !

        Day 11:

        14/03/22

So, I planned a 10 day liquid fast and I completed it. No one will understand what an achievement this is other than me but I am so proud of myself. Yesterday was one of the hardest days I've had in a longest time but not even really anything to do with eating. I feel momentum to keep fasting so I will, because from the 27th March till about mid april I will not have control over my food and it will be given back to my parents :( by then id reallllyyyy like to be at my lowest weight (46.6kg/bmi 16.5) so I don't feel awful about being made to eat. I haven't weighed myself since the start of the fast because I didnt want to be upset, and it's worked wonders. So i think ill hold of weighing myself till the morning of the 27th! Until then, I will continue liquid fasting and doing gentle exercise. I still havent had any liquid calories except those from vodka so if i start feeling really weak ill probably have some juice or a smoothie. If anyone has any experience with extended fasts please msg me!
