You'll find that it isn't something that gets 'easier'
I restrict up and down, at the moment I'm sitting on fasting/up to 400 cal with no slip ups, and it's not because I find it easier than restricting to 800, it's because currently I'm genuinely terrified to eat more. All I want to do is eat all day but I can't haha.
I think it really depends on the nature of the ED and you personally.

Hello there!
I currently restrict to 1,000 calories a day. I've been managing this for a couple of months. If I exercise I increase my uptake by a couple hundred calories. This number works for me because I don't have binges and am able to get quite a bit of nutritious food in my diet. I'm a waitress and spend all day on my feet, and I have adequate energy on this calorie plan. I'm 5'3 and in the healthy range for a BMI (always have been). The weight loss is slow, but steady. My question is; do you suppose I'll find it easier to restrict more in the future? I'm nervous to lower my intake because I really don't want to deal with the shame that comes from a binge, or the weight gain. Did anyone start out at a higher intake and find it "easy" to slowly decrease their calorie limit? I'm curious about other peoples experiences.

Yep, it gets easier for some people
Too fucking easy
But for others it gets harder, and you end up in a place opposite of what you wanted
