this might be a weird question but did you tell your surgeon about your ed/major weightloss beforehand? im planning to lose 70+ lbs before top surgery and ik its kind of risky to be operated on when you're malnourished. i want to let my dr. know about the weightloss + restriction prior to surgery but i dont want that to affect my eligibility,, did you experience any issues w/ your healing process? your results look great btw!

back then i was about 175 lbs i remember. i was playing tennis for my HS back then but ate like hell and had horrible hormone fluctuations. about 2-3 years post bulimia recovery.
these photos are from about an hour ago 7/17/22. i havent taken my weight in a few days, but as of this morning my waist is 26.5 which i think is just temporary since i definitely will bloat back up during my period lol.
as the title reads, i am 4'8 and my measurements are 34-26.5 (or 27)-46. i estimate that i might be in the high or mid 130s but im not sure because im bottom heavy so idk how to estimate well. feel free to comment or ask any questions while i post my progress from now on

I'm both concerned- and jealous. It's been awhile since I could see the outline of my rib cage on my abdomen- oh, and the nice collarbones. I hope to get back there soon.
All that said, you should consider slowly upping your caloric intake, especially since I see kiddos in the left photo. They'd surely miss you if you were gone.

How do you manage taking care of your kids while being so malnourished?
Every day is a challenge but I am currently trying to maintain weight and not lose strictly so I can be a better mom for them. I am slowly upping my calories almost every week and making sure to eat 3-5 times a day, and everything I eat is full of protein, potassium, and all that good stuff for energy. I really hate being so weak and wish I could be 100% heathy for them but we’re working on it.

I'm glad youre eating ragularly and trying to get nutrition. It sounds like you love them a lot and are doing your best. Its hard growing up with a sick parent. My dad has a chronic illness. remember that the most important thing is giving them love and being there in all the ways you can. My dad couldn't go on a walk or a bikeride with me, but he would read to me every night. He couldn't come to school events but he was always a safe person to hold and comfort me when I cried. It was really scary and hard to process as a kid though. I didn't understand his illness and thats part of what led to my ED. So I suggest you encourage age appropriate discussions about your illness. And help your kids find healthy ways to process emotions about it.

ahh thank you!!! i make sure to take my vitamins everyday dw<3 and in the beginning, my whole mindset was wrapped around binge prevention. i let myself eat just enough so that i was full and mainly ate at night since that was the time i binged the most, and almost exclusively did volume eating to keep me satisfied longer. from then i just slowly lowered my intake until i had a decent amount of self control. in terms of exercise, the only exercise i did was walk for 30min during the weekdays. i ate lots of broccoli and chicken noodle soup during the beginning of my relapse LOL. also im not sure if this is relevant but i only weighed myself every two weeks if i could help it, so i never lost motivation since there was a 100% chance i lost weight. theres not a lot of instances where someone goes from obese to underweight so it was extremely hard to stay motivated but its 10000% possible if you stay consistent. i hope this helps!!!

This is literally the most motivating thing I have seen! U look fantastic, well done. U have put in so much effort and the results speak for themselves! I am going to take ur advice of only weighing every two weeks. Gosh u look great!!! Do u feel more (physically) comfortable in ur body? I’ve got extra baby weight and I feel awkward and fat in ways I’ve never felt before. I can’t wait to feel less… frumpy
ahh thank you so much!!! recently ive been more comfortable in my body but i think thats just because other people are always telling me how thin i am. when im alone though i can feel every fat cell hanging off of my body. and i used to have a bunch of extra baby fat on my face but its almost all gone now! if you feel frumpy you might just be "skinny fat" which means you have a higher percentage of body fat, which you can easily fix by working out and eating more protein. my arms were super flabby due to me being skinny fat and they're almost completely solid from all the lifting and protein. you can do this!

this is awesome. I hope its not uncomfortable to say but seeing weight loss from a high bmi to low bmi is very awesome and satisfying. really nice job.
I was a high bmi before as well. I'm about 5'4 and I was 160 lbs or more and I'm 122 lbs now. I definitely feel skinny fat. I don't work out but I want to start doing deadlifts and running in the spring which will help.

it doesnt make me uncomfortable at all !!! thank you so much<3 and since ive made this post ive actually started working out everyday and eating about 850cals a day with a focus on protein and it actually works! (obviously it works but i was so convinced my body was gonna look flabby forever LOL) so it defo works !!!

did weighing yourself every 2 weeks help mentally? i weigh myself daily and sometimes the fluctuations mess with my mood! did you ever look at daily fluctuations??
eventually i started weighing myself every day compulsively and it definitely messed with me way more than when i wasnt doing it every day. if i gained even the slightest amount i would convince myself i was doomed to be fat forever and would binge since i thought it didnt matter anymore. its super hard to wait out the whole 2 weeks but its so worth it if you're consistent every day leading up to it, i always got a weird high from it LMAOO. but yeah, i hope this helps!!

Congrats!
I imagine death so much it feels more like a memory.
When’s it gonna get me? In my sleep? Seven feet ahead of me?
If I see it comin’, do I run or do I let it be?
Is it like a beat without a melody?
See, I never thought I’d live past twenty.

how did u do it?
Honestly, with a lot of self-hatred. When I was 200lbs+, I was able to go a long periods of time of mixing fasting days and low restriction without feeling too terrible. As I got around to 180lbs, I started fasting more and over exercising by walking all over the city. I basically would get stuck in this mindset that food is disgusting, that I don't deserve to eat, and that I didn't want to, either. I still get in that mindset now, which leads me to not eat for days at a time. I did, however, have a couple months in total or so that I'd eat whatever I wanted, and usually in excess.

I'm hoping the loose skin on my stomach will be able to tighten some over time, seeing as I am only 19 and hope may not be out the window for me yet haha.

Hey!! My name is Kiera and I've had an ED since i was 12, i also have emerging bpd and c-ptsd
but im doing alright <3 I used to be addicted to drugs and alcohol and I've been in the care system
so with all my issues i want to work past it, live a normal life and try to help others.
My goal in life is to be a journalist on the telly so I'm working hard
and trying not to be too much of a fuck up. I still have an ED but one day I will get better.
I like music, drawing, fashion and writing! I'm quite boring really but i dunno
love you all like family pls stay safe!!

I'm 170cm and we look to be similar in size... So, I'm going to say ~24 because that's where I'm at.
That being said, I know I carry a lot of muscle so am relatively heavy for my actual size. You could be lighter and therefore have a lower BMI.
Finally lost all my summer weight gain

You look so good at both weights honestly, you're just a beautiful person. You're one of those people I'd be out in public feeling decent then I'd see you and be like wow....I hope she knows how pretty she is and then I'd want to look like you haha. You look amazing in all the photos but congratulations on the loss. Like I know we say oh you look good at both weights but often the lower one really is better but...not with you. You could have stayed that weight forever and people would be jealous as hell of you, and people will also be jealous as hell of you now. I sound like I'm obsessed with you sorry you're just so beautiful I am jealous ![]()

Diagnosed AN-R and almost died but recovered since 2019!
Recovery is so hard, but you will be amazed at how much better life is without EDs (even more than you can imagine). I hope
that I am able to maintain recovery all my life because it is the best thing I have ever done. If you want it, go get it. You won't
regret it long term even if it isn't as easy as you wanted.

My weight loss is much slower, I'm scared it doesn't show any more.
31 lbs to go to reach my ultimate goal. Until then, I'll work harder.
Before pictures were taken in the end of last february, after were taken tonight.

Do you see any progress in the last 4 months?
Any improvements you suggest?

first pic I was at least 120lbs+
2nd I was about 78
cw is 75
My arms are even thinner now even though its only a 3 lb difference. pros and cons to being short ig lmaoo

how'd you do it?
restricting? fasting?
any loose skin?
when i first started i was low resing for just over a month, maybe two, and did a 7 day fast at one point but found long fasts dont really do anything for me because its mostly food weight i lose and i gain most of it back when i start eating again, not to mention i felt like crap hahaha. i have since been eating 800 (i obviously do not personally recommend you do this as it is obviously not enough but this is mpa so me not telling you my intake isnt gonna do much to help!) some days i would eat less or even fast (i dont fast particularly often, or sometimes i do omad which i guess technically counts as a fast) but 800 was my max. there are very few days i have gone over 800 which have only been when i go to my parents and we get take out and i am unaware of the calories. this month i had a weeks holiday which was my first time eating maintenance since i relapsed n that was 7 days so stunted my progress a bit. the very end of this month i started taking adhd medication which has meant my intake has been a lot lower (aside from the holiday) as i struggle to remember to eat as i dont feel hungry so often times cant be bothered to eat which has had a big impact as it also speeds up your metabolism (well from what ive read) so that has been a factor as to why my weight loss hasnt really slowed despite being a lower weight than i was. so the meds sorta came at quite good timing to keep the weight loss consistent even tho im at a lower weight now. i also dont do much exercise, i dont work and spend a lot of days doing nothing and dont do any work outs, id say im lightly active?? because when i do need to do things i always try and walk everywhere, some days i can do 2000 steps, some days i can do 10,000+, it really depends
i dont think i do have any loose skin to be honest, perhaps a bit on my arms but i cant really tell if it is just bingo wings or loose skin, it will be interesting to see what happens to my arms when i lose more. but aside from that no noticeable lose skin.
sorry that was so bloody long i always ramble!

omg you look amazing!! how did you do it?
thank you so much! i posted a ramble of what i did in response to someone that commented further up the thread! i hate to tell people what i did as it feels like promoting ed behaviours but then also no one on this site is gonna be doing things healthily/in a non disordered way so me not saying anything isnt gonna stop people from looking on another thread and reading the same thing someone else has done :’)
