Does anyone know if purging burns kcal?

Does anyone know if there is any science behind this? Like purging uses the muscle of your stomach, supported by your back and pelvic floor. Surely there are kcal burned from this, but how much? Does it have any increased metabolic effect similar to exercise? How foes this interact with the amount of kcal digested in the small intestine (where kcal is absorbed)?

Yes ANY movement burns cals but definitely it will be much much less compare to let’s say walking or running etc

If there's the tiniest bit you can't get out, which is possible no matter how good you are at it and how much you flush, boom, break even.
There's no metabolic benefit to purging

Muscle tensing as well so there's that too
However I'm hf and done in a few minutes so I guess that it won't do much.
My heart rate can get up to 160 though
Got to agree I've been wondering about this multiple times as well😂

Doubt it's much if anything, 25 cals? You absorbs so much more than that its completely lost
While caloric consumption during binge eating has been measured, it is not known how many of the calories are retained in the gastrointestinal tract after vomiting. In 17 normal weight bulimic patients, there appeared to be a ceiling on the number of calories retained after vomiting. That is, whether or not bulimic patients had small (mean = 1,549 kcal, SD = 505) or large (mean = 3,530 kcal, SD = 438) binges, they retained similar amounts of kilocalories (mean = 1,128, SD = 497, versus mean = 1,209, SD = 574, respectively) after vomiting.

"Here is a serious answer to a disturbing question. The answer is yes. Bear in mind, you lose all nutritional benefit from any food that is expelled from the stomach.
The human stomach does not absorb the macro nor most micronutrients from food (the stomach can absorb some water soluble things like alcohol, certain medications, but it is very limited). The stomach just breaks down the food to get it ready for more digestion. Nutrient uptake occurs in the small intestine. So, if a person expels her stomach’s contents, then the nutrients from what is expelled never get absorbed. Once in the small intestine, the food is not coming back out the front door. You can only expel what is in your stomach. Even then, it is unlikely you would expel all of your stomach’s contents by vomiting.
In general, it takes 4–5 hours for the stomach to transfer its full contents into the small intestine. It takes about 1.5–3 for the stomach to transfer half its content to the small intestine. Therefore, you lose all the nutritional value of any food expelled by vomiting.
You wouldn’t be able to accurately calculate the difference.
Lastly, I suppose the act of vomiting might burn a few calories, but maybe just a handful (think single digits) more than your basal metabolical burn rate. Vomiting is usually pretty stressful on the body and does elevate the heart rate (usually). But again, you wouldn’t be able to quantify it in any meaningful way."

I'm usually extremely cold but get really hot when purging, so there's definitely some burning going on there.

How did you track it?
Garmin Vivosmart HR tracker, I set it to execrise "other" and it based the cals off heart rate. I've tried comparing thw cals during a run to the treadmill cals so I think it's pretty accurate.

Do I recommend it? NO! jump around for a while and you will burn the same amount roughly.
