I am just looking for advice here & for some people to share there personal experiences. How functional are y'all at lower double digit BMI's (like the 10-14 range)? I know that there will be big variations. But, I am just curious how well you function on a daily basis & for how long you have been doing it? What is your height? What is your weight? What is your BMI? What is your daily activity level like? How well can you think? What is your personal life like? How does your partner/spouse feel about it? Has it affected your relationship with them? How has it affected things with other people in your life (parents, siblings, children, friends, etc.)? Do you have any health problems? If so, how bad are they & how do you deal? What is your energy like? Do you take anything to boost your energy? Sorry for all of the questions, I am just trying to get some perspective. Feel free to answer any one or all of the above questions. Any information will help. I appreciate anyone & everyone who responds! <3 I will share some of my experience below.
I am 22-years-old. I am 5'6" & 85 pounds, so my BMI is 13.7. My highest weight ever was 125 pounds when I was 16. My lowest weight ever has been around 80 pounds. I have never weighed more than 114 as an adult, so I have been underweight my entire adult life. In the last year, I have dropped between 15 & 20 pounds. My goal weight is to get to 80 pounds, which will give me a BMI of 12.9. I eventually want to achieve my ultimate goal weight of 70 pounds, which will give me a BMI of 11.2. I am just not sure how maintainable either of those would be. I do not feel as if I look thin, even though those around me claim that I look "skin over bones". I wear a size 00 jeans & they are too big on me now. My waist is 22", my bust is 27", & my hips are 28". I am pretty functional, in my opinion. I am married to my wonderful husband. I work a blue-collar job that is somewhat physically demanding. I also manage rental property with my husband & sister, doing quite a bit of the repairs myself, I am the president of a museum, & I run my own art business with my husband & sister. We are also taking care of our elderly Mom. My BMR is 1,065. My TDEE can range anywhere from 2,045 to 3,606. I mostly high restrict, but will sometimes fast. My husband & I are into intermittent fasting & usually do so together on Saturday's, Sunday's, or both. Naturally, I have a decent amount of energy like 70% of the time. When I do not have enough of my own energy to make it through the day, I supplement with both caffeine & speed. I do not have any major health problems. I have muscle & bone pain here & there. I also get muscle cramps & despite not purging (I can count on one hand the times per year that I force myself to vomit), I still have issues with electrolytes. I take supplements, though. I also take multivitamins. Part of me really wants to lose more weight & get down to my goal because in the back of my mind, I am still fat. The other part of me wants to maintain my current 85 pounds or even gain back up to 90, maybe build a little muscle back on my arms (I had really nice biceps when I weighed more). My husband does not want me to lose more. He wants me to maintain or gain a little. I hate worrying him, so that factors into my decision, as well. I am just not sure where to go from here. Do you think I will still be able to function at a lower weight/BMI?
